It’s FREE TO CAMP for Weekend Ticket holders! Grab your gear, grab your mates and pitch your tent for two days and nights of action and adventure. If you’re short of camping gear or just couldn’t be bothered, rent a tent at Tent City! Great tents put up for you and all kitted out. CAMPING TICKETS & ENTRY TIMES The Great Escape at Newington Common is all about music and camping. Full Weekend tickets include FREE CAMPING. Doors open at 8:00am on Saturday October 4th and you don’t have to leave until Monday morning! Get there early to set up camp then have a coffee and some breakfast – maybe by the river – or maybe get weird straight away and have breakky in the cabaret! The first act on the main stage starts at 11.00am. Assume the position and don’t miss anything. When all the action finishes late at night, you’ll be herded into the camp grounds where you’ve got your FREE CAMPING SPOT all set up! But if you’re allergic to camping and absolutely can’t stay overnight, you’ll have to head off at around 11:00pm to be sure you get the last bus out. The rest of us will stay on and you’ll probably miss out on something really good. You can buy a ticket to this festival if you’re 15 or over. But if you’re under 18 you have to be accompanied by a ticket holding family member or adult over 18. The adult has to prove they have your parent’s permission to bring you. Two, three, four-man tents are perfect. Campervans or other vehicles are not allowed. CHECK INTO TENT CITY! Camping is free and you don’t want to miss the stuff that happens after the last bus leaves, so you may as well just camp. But if you’re not that into it (let’s face it – it’s not for everyone) make someone else set up a flash camp site for you. There are a LIMITED number of really nice tents with carpet, camp beds and, mattresses available for hire. The guys from Tent City will set it up – all you have to do is arrive and be fabulous. You have to get in really quick because they’ll go like hotcakes. GO TO THE TENT CITY WEBSITE AND BOOK ONE RIGHT NOW! WHERE CAN I PARK? You can buy a parking pass for the Blaxland Common carpark, just next to the Armory (see our 'DIRECTIONS' section for details). YOU CAN’T DRIVE YOUR CAR INTO THE SITE. But the car park isn’t too far away and we could all do with the exercise. CAMPING REGISTRATION POINT & GENERAL STORE When you arrive at the festival, you'll need to check in with our Camping Marshall. If you've forgotten some of the basics - DON'T PANIC! There'll be a general store selling all essential goodies. CAN I BRING IN FOOD? You’re welcome to bring in food and non-alcoholic drinks. Make sure drinks are sealed and unopened upon entry and please don’t bring glass bottles or any food that requires cooking ( you can’t bring stuff to make a fire or gas cookers etc) as the festival is a fire-free zone. CAMPING ZONES There are two camping zones at the festival – general camping and quiet camping. Right now, you think you’re going to be up all night being hilarious with your mates. But come night two it will be a different story. Make sure you pick a camping zone that suits you. And if you’re going to be loud, take it to the noisy part. FACILITIES There are basic showers and toilets available in the campgrounds. Peak times for shower queues are in the mornings and later afternoons, so avoid these times if you don't want a wait. There’s no electricity or laundry facilities. SECURITY Theft can be a problem at any large event, so please don't bring anything of value to the festival other than what is absolutely necessary. You can lock up any special items during the event in the Cloakroom. And if you’re a thief and you’re reading this now – stop being a bastard. |
